E.J. Gold's Digital Dojo will soon have its own cyberhome as his 3D interactive Bardo Training computer game, the Gamemaker of Diabolical Distinction -- G.O.D.D. is released-a move expected in the next six weeks, according to Claude Needham, assistant designer to Gold on the project. In G.O.D.D., one can visit classic Bardos in the comfort of one's own computer. Cosmo Street, "Red House" and other famous school sites, that have been faithfully reproduced in 3D cyberspace, become more than impassive history-students can virtually meditate in the 1976 Study House at Crestline, for example, before trekking off to the day's 1997 appointments. Meanwhile, Gold's Digital Dojo is going strong, with trainings occurring round the clock and Gold himself at the helm for as much as 20 hrs per day. "Anyone interested in Gold's work is a fool to not get online with him now," says Iven Lourie, editor at Gateways Books & Tapes, publisher of many of Gold's books. "It is extremely rare for him to make a public appearance at all, and this context is particularly intimate. Act now, I say. We don't know how long this opportunity will last." Gold's Digital Dojo aka Gorebag's Online Military Academy (GOMA) has been active for the last several months through Quake CTF and Team Fortress gaming with Gorebag. To find Gorebag in the meantime, look for him in "GameSpy" a Quake search service available through PlanetQuake, or check fairgame.org and slimeworld.org. |
