Upon awakening from a deep dreamless darkness, one finds oneself staring at the foot of a wooden burial casket. Striking the end of the coffin starts an elevator ride upward to Morty's Family Mortuary, the start of your journey through the Bardos.... |
Arriving at the top of the elevator ride, one is surrounded by many bouquets of beautiful white flowers in iridescent violet vases. Striking or shooting the wall directly ahead of you will open the way.... |
Through the first door on the right, one gets this restful impression; a few delightfully darting DarkSide Bats sqeaking overhead and generally hovering around and biting unwary victims just outside the Viewing Rooms in this quiet, unassuming family style funeral home. |
Peering through the other door in the front room, one can see a wooden table or chest on top of which you see flowers and a glowing copper disk. |
Just to the left of the table with the disk, you find a door, which does not open to the touch, but instead informs you, "This door opens elsewhere..." |
Choosing the only alternative to the locked door, one returns to the front room and goes through the door into the vestibule outside the viewing room area, the one with the squealing bats.... |
One sees a number of rooms with a variety of casket selections, most of which are filled to capacity with one client each.... |
Caskets abound in the Common Viewing Room...one sees a charcoal-studded chamber off to the left, and an inviting maw of hallway far to the rear of the viewing chamber. |
The inviting maw of hallway turned out to bear a sign, "Road to Hell"...Why not take it and see where it leads? Simply strike or shoot the sign to operate the Elevator To Hell. |
Back in the Common Viewing Room again, one takes bearings and once oriented, continues on downward into the very bowels, so to speak, of the complex. |
In the charcoal chamber, something seems to have happened...we get a message: "Another Door Has Opened...". |
And sure enough, it did. We find ourselves at the bottom of a wide, carpeted stairs in a deep hallway below the funeral home's main floor, and we see a scintillating force-field and a glass case in which a young woman wanders restlessly. |
Yep, there she is on the left. Past the "Your Name Here" sign, you'll note th wall panels of Fiery Stuff, indicating that you're already pretty deep in the pit of Hell. |
You've managed to find the key somewhere near the upside-down rooms, and the door upstairs has now opened, so you go through it out onto the street below. |
The Street Below...aptly named, wouldn't you say? |
It turns out to be a haberdashery, as you can tell from the figures in the commercial tempered-glass window. |
Under the baleful stare of these Living Gargoyles' eyes, you wander through the streets until you realize the truth...there is nowhere for you to go. Reluctantly, you turn back, only to notice another door just near the door leading to Morty's Family Mortuary. Another funeral home? |
You enter the haberdashery to find a number of tables set up for guests. You might notice a yellow pool and a Fountain of Wee-Wee nearby. It is deadly, so you don't want to step into it. Somewhere in here, you'll find a key, which opens a door somewhere far, far away, which in turn leads to....? |
