Activity #10:
In this activity you will be using 3 by 5 cards created in the previous activity. If you haven't done the previous activity, then do so.
Using the cards prepared in the previous activity, look at each card and answer the following question:
- Is the incident selected an episode with multiple actions and a duration, or is it a single moment -- a time slice?
If the incident on the card is a single moment -- a time slice -- then put that card in the "okay" pile. If the incident is composed of multiple actions then select any single moment from the episode that best captures that thing about the incident that inspired you to include it in the first place. Write a new card with that extracted moment. Put the new card in the "okay" pile and put the multiple action card in the "later for you" pile.
Go through your stack of 3 by 5 cards until each incident has been checked against this standard.
When you are done you should have one pile with "okay" cards and another pile with "later for you" cards.
Save the "later for you" cards for later. We may or may not ever come back to these cards.
Continue with the process of compiling cards with single moments from your life. After this activity you should have a better notion of what we were referring to in the previous activity when we asked for "moments".
